Start with the care label
The small label inside the shirt tells you how to care for it.
- Check the wash temperature.
- Check if machine washing is allowed.
- Check how to dry it.
- If the label is missing, ask the seller.
The label comes first. Tips for another jersey may not fit yours.

Sort before you wash
| Keep together | Keep apart |
|---|---|
| Shirts with matching care rules | Towels, zippers and rough kit |
| Colors the label allows together | Light and dark items that may bleed |
| Sound, washable shirts | Shirts with loose prints or damaged seams |
Turn shirts inside out if the maker says to. A wash bag does not make a banned wash method safe.

Check stains and printed parts
- Look at the neck, sleeves and hem.
- Check the names, numbers and badges.
- Use a stain product only if it suits the shirt.
- Follow both the shirt label and product directions.
- Do not mix cleaning products.
A number or badge is peeling. What now?
Stop and ask the seller or print shop. Washing will not fix loose decoration. Do not try a hot iron as a quick fix.
Wash and dry without rushing
- Use the wash method on the label.
- Measure the detergent. More is not always better.
- Give the shirts room in the machine.
- Use the drying method on the label.
- Check seams and thick areas before packing.
Do not add heat just to save time. Plan enough drying time before the next game.
